Regular Events

Below is a list of events or groups meeting regularly in the hall.

The Birches Bridge Club

The Birches Bridge Club is a thriving, friendly club which was started in the hall over twenty years ago. It's a brilliant card game for people looking for a new challenge, whilst at the same time making new, life-long friends. It keeps the brain active and if you are new to the game or haven't played it for a number of years, you can join lessons with experienced teachers Janet and Andrew.

We play bridge twice a week:                                                                     Monday – 6.45pm for 7pm start to 10.30pm                                 Wednesday – 1.45pm for 2pm start to 5.30pm

There is a fee of £3 for each session and £3.50 for visitors.                     The annual club subscription is £5.

Line Dancing

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Jean Harris and I am a qualified Instructor and Choreographer of Line Dancing. I have been teaching Line Dancing at levels from beginners to intermediate for 28 years.

My class at Much Birch Community Centre on a Wednesday evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm is suitable for beginners to intermediate. If you are new to line dancing or have been out of circulation for a while you may find this class is a little difficult. However if there was sufficient interest I could consider extending the time and starting an absolute beginner class. If you have done line dancing before and would like to join us, please come along on a Wednesday evening. We are a very friendly group of dancers and we dance to all genres of music, at the same time enjoying the exercise and fun. I also teach classes at Westfield’s Community Centre and Clehonger Village hall.
Details of my classes and videos of dances can be found on my website. www.koolkickerslinedancing.com and also on Kool Kickers linedancing facebook page. Please take a look at my website or telephone me on 07506718907 if you are interested.

Tai Chi & Qi Gong

Tai Chi & Qi Gong Class

Every Monday 9 - 10:30am
Cost £10 per session, all ages and abilities are welcome

The practices of T’ai Chi and Qi Gong are thousands of years old and informed much of the knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine as it stands today. There are many different styles practiced throughout the world, namely Li, Yang, Chen, Wu, Hao and Sun. Each of these, if taught correctly, will adhere to the basic principles of T’ai Chi and students will learn what separates this Ancient form of movement from other forms of exercise.

As well as a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2010, David has been practicing the Li Style of T’ai Chi, Qi Gong plus associated Feng Shou Kung Fu and throwing art Chi Shu since 1979 and is a Senior Instructor within the Taoist Arts Organisation.

Until a class uniform is obtained, each class is practiced in loose clothes, e.g. t-shirt, sweatshirt, jogging trousers and trainers.
